Child Protection Policy

Our promise to keep every young leader safe, respected, and empowered.

Our commitment

NextGen Impact Initiative is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every young person who participates in our programs. We believe that safety is the foundation of leadership, and we take proactive steps to protect youth from harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and discrimination.

Scope

This policy applies to all staff, mentors, volunteers, partners, contractors, and youth participants involved in NextGen Impact Initiative activities, whether in person or online. It governs all programs, events, communications, and digital platforms operated by or on behalf of our organization.

Safe people and practices

We carefully screen mentors, volunteers, and adult partners who work directly with youth. Screening includes reference checks, interviews, and clear expectations for professional boundaries. Adults are expected to model respectful behavior, maintain appropriate communication, and avoid one-on-one private contact with minors.

Online safety

Virtual meetings, messaging, and collaboration tools are used with safeguards in place: meetings are recorded or supervised when appropriate, links are shared only with registered participants, and communication is conducted through organization-approved channels. We never ask youth for private passwords, financial information, or identifying documents.

Reporting concerns

Any youth, parent, volunteer, or partner who has a concern about a child's safety is encouraged to report it immediately. Concerns can be sent to info@nextgenimpactinitiative.com. We take every report seriously, respond promptly, and, when required, involve the appropriate authorities or child protection agencies.

Photography and media

We obtain permission before capturing, using, or sharing images or recordings of youth. Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and is never sold or shared with unauthorized third parties.

Review

This policy is reviewed regularly and updated as needed to reflect best practices, participant feedback, and applicable regulations. If you have questions about our child protection practices, please contact us at info@nextgenimpactinitiative.com.
