Terms of Use

Our programs are built for young people aged 13 to 18, and are always free. Alongside participants, we work with parents and guardians, mentors and volunteers, and with companies, nonprofits, schools, community organizations, and other institutional partners who collaborate on programs, events, and initiatives. These terms apply to all of them, with partner-specific terms set out further below.

• Use the site lawfully and respectfully, and provide accurate information in any form you submit.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the site or our systems.
• Do not submit content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, discriminatory, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Do not impersonate another person or organization, or claim to represent NextGen Impact Initiative without written authorization.
• Do not use the site or our materials to promote a commercial product, political campaign, or fundraising appeal without our written consent.

• Submitting an application, project idea, or interest form is a request to participate. It is not a guarantee of a place, mentorship, or support.
• Applicants aged 13 to 18 may need parent or guardian consent before joining certain activities. We may ask for it before confirming a place.
• We support young leaders with mentorship, training, and guidance. In some cases, depending on the availability of funds and grants, we may choose to provide funding support to a select few participants.
• Participants are responsible for how they run their own projects, including obtaining any permissions, permits, or supervision their local activity requires.
• We may pause or end someone's participation if their conduct puts other participants, mentors, or the community at risk, or if these terms are broken.
• We expect a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment at all times, online and in person. Harassment, bullying, or unsafe behaviour is not tolerated.

Most of our events are online, and some, such as our flagship summit, are held in person. Registering interest reserves a spot in our planning, not a contractual seat. Event formats, schedules, speakers, and hosts may change, and events may be rescheduled or cancelled. Attendees agree to follow the code of conduct for the event and any additional rules set by a co-hosting venue or partner.

We welcome collaborations with companies and organizations that want to invest in young leaders. The following applies to those relationships.

• A collaboration begins only when both sides confirm it, either in writing or through a clear verbal agreement.
• Where a written partnership agreement, memorandum of understanding, or sponsorship agreement exists, that document governs the collaboration and takes precedence over these terms if the two conflict.
• Each party keeps ownership of its own name, logo, and brand. Use of the other party's name or logo requires prior written approval and must follow any brand guidance provided.
• Partners may not describe themselves as endorsed, certified, or accredited by NextGen Impact Initiative, and we will not imply endorsement of a partner's products or services.
• Partners working directly with participants must follow our safeguarding expectations, use participant information only for the agreed activity, and never for their own marketing or sales.
• Confidential information shared for the purposes of a collaboration must be kept confidential and used only for that purpose.
• We may decline or end a collaboration where it conflicts with our mission, our safeguarding duties, or our nonprofit and non-partisan character.

You keep ownership of the ideas, project descriptions, writing, images, and other content you send us. By submitting it, you give us permission to use it for the purpose you sent it for, including reviewing an application, running a program, and, where you have given consent, sharing your story or project publicly to celebrate youth impact. You confirm that you have the right to share what you send. You can ask us to stop using your content publicly at any time.

The name NextGen Impact Initiative, our logo, and the text, design, and materials on this site belong to us or our licensors. You may share and link to our pages, and use our materials for personal, educational, or nonprofit community purposes with credit. Commercial use, resale, or presenting our materials as your own is not permitted without written consent.

Our programs, workshops, and materials are educational. They are not legal, financial, medical, or mental health advice. If you need professional support, please speak with a qualified professional or, in an emergency, contact local emergency services.

Our site and programs may link to or run on third-party platforms such as video conferencing, form, or email tools, and to partner websites. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

We offer this site and our programs on an as-available basis and may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of them, including programs, events, or pages, at any time. We may also update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms, and the date at the top of this page will always show the current version.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NextGen Impact Initiative, its youth leaders, volunteers, mentors, and directors are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of this site, participation in our programs, or a collaboration with us. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
